Folks I have to start off by letting you know we are a little busy on our end. We still wanted to bring you an update from the birthplace of the theme park haunt, Knott’s Berry Farm, and we still wanted to offer you the most current pics, news and info on the haunt creep that is slowly spreading through the park but we have been working overtime to get ready for the weekend ahead.

There is actually plenty to see happening down on the farm as we anticipate the return of one of the very best haunts in the world, Knott’s Scary Farm. There has been a lot of progress under Xcelerator on the yet to be announced maze in that corner of the park. We have also spotted some work continuing in Camp Snoopy under the stage coach trail, and we can see minute changes backstage at the old Voodoo location.

As we said before, this weekend is the annual Midsummer Scream event at the Long Beach Convention Center and this year, HorrorBuzz is a bigger part of the action. We have a booth, like last year, but we have curated the programming for a new short film festival held at Midsummer Scream. We are calling the Screaming Room and you should come buy and check it out. We will also be selling a new thing called the Passport to Fear that every Halloween junky is going to need to get.

The Passport to Fear events are one-night, special ticketed events at the best haunts in southern California. We take you behind the scenes, introduce you to the creators of the haunted attractions you love and march you to the front of the line. It’s a guided tour of terror sold only by HorrorBuzz. This year there are four destinations including Knott’s Berry Farm, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Six Flags Fright Fest, and a special night at the Winchester Mystery House on Friday, October 13th!

Tickets to the four events go on sale July 29th at our booth and online here on the site.

But you want to see pics of Knott’s don’t you? Oh yes, well of course.

Knott’s Berry Farm

Seriously this is one of the best theme parks in the country. The amount of history and charm in Ghost Town alone is enough to keep you busy for the day. As the birthplace of the theme park haunt inches ever closer to haunt season, normal guests are none the wiser.

Awwww. The townsfolk in Ghost Town are so friendly!

Then we see something…

What could that be?

Camp Snoopy

There appears to be some continuous work happening under the Stagecoach path in Camp Snoopy. This could actually be any number of things, including little something for Knott’s Spooky Farm. This was, as you may recall, the location of one of the Skeleton Key Boo Boxes last year.

Gunslinger’s Grave Location

So far, bupkis is happening in the former location of Gunslinger’s Grave.

Maze under Xcelerator

The maze under Xcelerator is under construction now and the flooring has been constructed. Everything indicates that we will be getting the absolutely amazing Shadowlands again this year, PLEASE let that be so! But nothing has been announced yet.

Boardwalk Ballroom

Here at the former location of Dead of Winter we obviously see nothing at all. Will we get the ice queen again or will Knott’s let it go?

Construction pics

While this is a haunt tracker, I can’t help but report on what is happening in the park when I see it. As we all know, Boomerang is not a thing anymore. It is gone. Here are the pics to prove it. We are expecting an announcement on August 16th from Knott’s Berry Farm on their plans for this area.

Red Barn?

We still have no word on whether or not the Red Barn maze of the Wilderness Dance Hall will return or not. So far, just a bunch of scary as heck banquet tables.

Voodoo?

And finally we peep at the backstage area that held Trick or Treat, Voodoo, Paranormal Activity and The Tooth Fairy Things are getting dressed up but nothing overly noticeable.

Thanks for reading and going along with us as we search out Halloween at Knott’s Berry Farm as they prepare to teach haunts around the world how it is done! Please, if you haven’t yet, make sure to stop y and say hello to us at Midsummer Scream either at Booth 131 or at the Screaming Room.  We can’t wait to see you!
