It’s the second most wonderful time of the year at one of our very favorite theme parks in the country. Knott’s Berry Farm has, sadly, shed its frightening haunt attire and has gone from Scary to Merry! Yes, Knott’s Merry Farm is here and the entire park has been transformed in a matter of weeks to a glistening, glowing, food and fun-filled wonderland for young and old.

Included with admission is a sleigh full of Holiday entertainment. Yes, back are the classics like the Merry Christmas Snoopy Ice Show and Christmas Carol and Gift of the Magi in the Birdcage Theatre. Then there is the new classic, It’s The Merriest Christmas Show Ever,  Charlie Brown along with the daytime presentations of A Peanuts Guide to Christmas in Camp Snoopy and the Calico Saloon Christmas Show in Ghost Town. Including the Calico Carolers, that is a total of 7 shows that you can see in one day if you plan it right.

Christmas Crafts Village

Returning this year and open all day and night is the Christmas Crafts Village. Artisans and craftsmen sell their wares here.

Also, every night, a magical thing happens on Calico’s Main Street. Snowfall and dancing lights!

Santa’s Cabin

Then there’s the food. MAN the food. Once again the go straight for our waistline with food like the Thanksgiving Bites (Fried stuffing balls with turkey inside #OMG) and the Thanksgiving Egg Rolls. Seriously.

You can also stop by Santa’s Christmas Cabin and get those cinnamon almonds that are so dang good, or some white chocolate cheesecake bites or perhaps some beer and or wine.

Boardwalk

The biggest enhancement this year is in Boardwalk where all-new decorations turn this rather angular end of the farm into a colorful, whimsical place of wonder. That’s not to mention that they took full advantage of the lighting and music package on the brand new centerpiece ride, Hang Time. After dark, the new lighting and music displays dance and chase the coaster as the cars careen around the track. It is truly impressive.

Merry Christmas, Snoopy! Christmas Ice Show

Let’s be clear. The Christmas ice show at Knott’s is a tradition. The Peanuts, the snow, the message of peace and goodwill to all. However, a fresh flocking would do this classic some good. You still need to see it, it is still a tear-inducing spectacle, but when you remember every note and movement, well, hmmmmm.

It’s the Merriest Christmas Show Ever, Charlie Brown

Returning is this delightful little stage show featuring the Peanuts gang as Charlie Brown tries to present a holiday stage show while waiting for Snoopy to return home. Charming, festive and a nice way to sit and digest all the dang food in between rides.

It’s a no-brainer for the holidays. If you want the most bang for your buck, stop by Knott’s Merry Farm and grab yourself passes. This will get you in for the rest of the year and in the year to come! We hope to see you down on the farm!
