Epic Pictures is soon to release the 2019 Premios Platinos nominated dance thriller, WE ARE THE HEAT (SOMOS CALENTURA).

The film takes place in Buenaventura, Colombia, a kingdom of corruption and drug trafficking. Harvey and his three friends are doomed to a life of poverty and uncertainty–but music and urban dance helps to overcome and defy their violent destiny. We Are The Heat is directed by Jorge Navas, co-written by Diego Vivanco, co-written and produced by Steven Grisales, and starring Duván Arizala, José Luis Paz, Julio Valencia, Miguel Ángel Micolta, Manuel Riascos, Ariel Nuñez, and Heidy Mina.

We Are the Heat (2019) Epic Pictures Official Trailer

The trailer alone is a great showcase for some stunning cinematography and tightly-edited action sequences. And with its darker and culturally relevant subplot, the film looks like it will dodge that formulaic “dance movie” narrative.

We Are The Heat will be in theaters in selected cities across the US on February 22, and available everywhere on VOD on February 26.

About the Author

From humble beginnings as a bisexual art kid who drank more coffee than a 40-year-old author, Remy now holds a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University and is a proud member of the HorrorBuzz team (and still a bisexual art kid who drinks too much coffee). They were first introduced to the world of horror and camp when their grandma showed them The Rocky Horror Picture Show at age 5, and never looked back. When they're not writing cartoons or working on movies, one can spot them in various clubs around Los Angeles performing very, very self-deprecating standup comedy. Howdy ho!
