ALTER, a new horror brand from global studio Gunpowder & Sky, announced that it will be a presenting sponsor of Chicago’s Cinepocalypse Film Festival for 2019.

During the festival, ALTER will host the world premiere of its new film DEADCON on June 15th at the Music Box Theatre, and has just released a brand new trailer. The festival also marks the beginning of ALTER’s year-long partnership with the Music Box Theatre.

Synopsis: Deadcon tackles isolation in the age of social media and follows real-life YouTubers Lauren Elizabeth and Claudia Sulewski as they face vengeful ghosts even more horrifying than their devoted fans.

Following the world premiere in Chicago, Deadcon will continue a festival tour this summer and fall, with more dates to be announced. Tickets for Deadcon’s premiere at Cinepocalypse are now available.

Also screening at Cinepocalypse is the crowd-pleasing comedic thriller and ALTER acquisition, VILLAINS, starring Bill Skarsgård (Deadpool 2, It), Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Fifth Wave), Jeffrey Donovan (“Sicario”) and Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”). The film will make its Chicago premiere on June 14th in advance of a nationwide theatrical release this fall.

About the Author

From humble beginnings as a bisexual art kid who drank more coffee than a 40-year-old author, Remy now holds a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University and is a proud member of the HorrorBuzz team (and still a bisexual art kid who drinks too much coffee). They were first introduced to the world of horror and camp when their grandma showed them The Rocky Horror Picture Show at age 5, and never looked back. When they're not writing cartoons or working on movies, one can spot them in various clubs around Los Angeles performing very, very self-deprecating standup comedy. Howdy ho!
