RLJE Films has acquired the US rights to Frank Sabatella’s upcoming horror film, The Shed, just ahead of its formal debut at Sitges. RLJE has already made quick work of this title, planning a theatrical release, as well as making it VOD and Digital HD available as of Nov. 15, 2019. The film written and directed by Frank Sabatella (Blood Night) stars Jay Jay Warren (Bosch), Cody Kostro (City on a Hill), Sofia Happonen (Woman of a Certain Age), Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction), Siobhan Fallon Hogan (Men in Black) and Timothy Bottoms (The Last Picture Show). The deal was negotiated by Ward and Jess DeLeo from RLJE Films and Block and Neal on behalf of the filmmakers.

Release Date November 15, 2019

Synopsis: Stan, Roxy and Dommer are lifelong friends whose bond is being tested by the ever-taxing rigors of high school. For Stan and Dommer, in particular, the daily bullying they encounter comes in second only to watching Roxy’s popularity grow, and, in turn, her closeness to them dissipate. But there’s an unexpected possible solution to their problems in Stan’s backyard: a nondescript-looking toolshed, which houses something inhuman. Centered around the unlikeliest of villains, Frank Sabatella’s The Shed takes what could have been a gore-drenched monster movie romp and layers it with potent coming-of-age anxiety and youth-in-crisis urgency. Don’t worry, though: There’s still carnage aplenty.
