The sequel to the graphic novel Lucas is in development, but it needs your support! The creator, David Murdoch, intends to print a small run of Lucas: Book Two which will be limited to fewer than 2500 copies in total and which will not be reprinted, so if you want to secure a copy you’ll have to back the campaign by the end of October. Haven’t read the original Lucas? Good news! The first novella will be included in book two alongside four brand new stories, described on the campaign page:

The Road Trip is the story of a family vacation and the terror they face traveling on a deserted stretch of highway.

Doomsayer follows Jenna, a young woman singled out by Peter, who believes that Jenna has been marked for death.

Judicium chronicles the encounter between Lucas, a family camping, and generations of forgotten miners prone to extreme savagery.

Newborn will explore [Lucas’] terrible beginning marred with blood and tragedy.

In addition to the book itself, the campaign has a few other cool perks for those willing to support the series including exclusive art prints, trading cards, and access to the beta for Lucas: Chapter One, the upcoming PC game based on the character. There’s also a deluxe pledge level that offers an exclusive bust of Lucas. I’m especially interested in the cards, which are all homages to classic horror:

Personally, I’d love to see more Lucas content, and I hope you’ll consider heading over to the campaign page and checking out what David Murdoch has been working on. If nothing else, it’s worth heading to the page for a sample of the original novella and a few tastes of art from the new stories. Should the campaign succeed the book is expected to ship in May of 2020, so I imagine the project is already near completion and that all funding is truly being used to cover the costs of production as stated on the page. The Indiegogo is only live until the end of the month, so head over and check it out!
