What’s the smell wafting through the streets of Ghost Town? No, it isn’t the fog of Scary Farm rolling in, but it IS the next best thing…it’s almost Boysenberry Festival time!

We were invited to the Boysenberry Festival preview event at Knott’s Berry Farm last night, where we were able to try out some of the delectable new treats (and old favorites) that will be making their way to the farm starting on March 20th. And let me tell you…there are such sites to see and treats to eat!
We will hold off our full review until the festival arrives, but we WILL tell you that the clear frontrunner this year for “best of the fest” is a two-way tie between the boysenberry cajun shrimp over grits and the boysenberry beer cheese soup topped with a boysenberry drizzle and brown butter croutons. Both were so good, we had to go back for seconds!

In addition to all the “normal” boysenberry-tinged treats you will find, there are also some new monster creatures from the food masterminds at the farm. The first is the massive mega Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner-burger in one, a creation that has to be SEEN to be believed. It is four, one pound beef patties, cheese, lettuce tomatoes, an entire boysenberry pie, on a King’s Hawaiian roll, topped off by four fried chicken breasts. It is truly the most terrifying thing that Knott’s has created, including Scary Farm, and I cannot WAIT to taste it. There is also the WOW Pastry, which is a gigantic cheeseburger pastry with boysenberry ketchup, a two foot long boysenberry sausage, and so, so much more!

In addition to all the food, there is also a whole line of new merch and boysenberry-related things to take home, like the food spread, jams, sauces, and so much more. How could you go wrong?!
This year is sure to be one of the best Boysenberry Festivals around, and we cannot wait for it to be here already! The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival runs 31 days starting March 20th – April 19th, 2020. For more information, visit www.knotts.com for tickets and more!
