You want to run, you want to hide, but can you escape from this horrific predator? Monstrum, a highly anticipated survival horror game, is coming digitally to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on May 22, 2020. The physical release is being postponed due to the global crisis situation, so a digital release gives all players a chance to play it very, very soon.

Synopsis: From developers Team Junkfish and producers SOEDESCO, Monstrum is a first person, survival horror game. The player wakes up on a massive cargo ship with no memories of how they got there. Soon enough, they learn they are being hunted by a terrifying monster, so they will have to defend themselves with whatever weapons and tools they can ransack on the ship, and eventually find enough clues to escape. Each level of the ship is procedurally generated to create a new experience with every playthrough; that, combined with their permadeath system, the game offers long hours of replayability.

Some key features about the game from the creators:

  • Survive a changing environment and monster with each new game
  •     Use whatever you can find to outwit the monsters and escape the ship
  • Hide, distract, and run, but be careful not to fall into the numerous traps
  • Death is permanent. Try to stay alive or you’ll have to start all over again

The trailer has eerie music combined with ominous views, where decay is combing the entirety of the ship. The first person perspective serves a real detailed view of the grotesque inner workings of this ship. We see a few peaks at the predator hunting us down, but with the game randomizing the levels and monster each time, so it’ll be exciting to see what other types of monsters we will encounter.

Monstrum will be available for digital purchase on May 22, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for £24,99. Be ready to fight for your life in order to survive Monstrum.
