Netflix has released the trailer for the original series’ newest season which is set to release this August. Lucifer is back and ready to raise a little more hell. Only this time…he’s not the only one. An official poster was released on Netflix’s Instagram. Just by looking at it, we know we are in for one hell of a good time!

Synopsis– Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. In the upcoming showstopping fifth season of Lucifer, the stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, “will they or won’t they?”

QUESTIONS. That’s how I can best explain this trailer. Full disclosure I have never seen an episode of Lucifer so this was my first intro…and what an intro it was! The first few seconds draw you in if you haven’t seen the show before. And if you have, it reminds you why you like it in the first place. The trailer showcases drama of all kinds, romantic, existential, even familial. No dramatic stone is left unturned. I am sure season 5 will be a show stopper, so I have some catching up to do before the new season starts.

Season 5 is set to release in two parts. Part 1 comes to Netflix August 21 and Part 2’s release date has yet to be announced. Lucifer is bored and looking for more adventure and we are bored and looking for another show to binge, so it’s the perfect relationship! I guess you could say it’s a match made in….well you know… The series gets to end on its own terms and satisfy the hungry hellions they call fans. With a sneak peek like this, I am sure they won’t disappoint!
