On October 1st, the horror music collective LVCRFT dropped their second album THE SEQUEL and we have been growing to the pop-Halloween tunes since the first tunes clawed their way into our skull. It seems with this iteration the team behind this macabre melodic nightmare have found a groove. Featuring a veritable who’s who of horror artists and icons including guest appearances from Uffie (Uffie the Vampire Slayer), Bonnie McKee (Evil McQueen), ZZ Ward (ZZycho Ward), Morgan McMichaels (Morgan McMyKill Myers), Sarah Hudson (Olivia Demon Spawn), and Har Mar Superstar (Scar Mar Superscare) we get a sleek soundtrack for the Halloween season, again. As an added bonus, Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead) and John Kassir (The Cryptkeeper) have lent their vocal talents to the creepy collection.
After creating the first album that was choc full of clever lyrics, melodies, and dark humor, it baffled us that no one had done it before, much less so well. LVCRFT says, “Having grown up obsessed with the holiday and Halloween music we realized we’d been listening to the same Halloween songs since we were kids. As much as we love those songs, we felt it was time to make a fresh batch and provide the next generation and generations to come with fresh soundtracks to their October adventures.” I mean, Exercise The Demons? Priceless.
LVCRFT continued, “This year as the pandemic set in and trick or treating was canceled across America, we realized that people were going to need more outlets than usual to satiate their Halloween cravings. Hopefully, our small contribution can help feed the beast. Honestly, with the year that we have had, all of us deserve another round of spooky dance music. Even if we will be dancing alone in our crypts until it is safe to return to the land of the living.
