We speak with the awesome BenDavid Grabinski, writer-director of the new film HAPPILY. The new film stars Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé as a couple who have learned that their circle of friends pretty much hates them for their lustful, healthy, and happy relationship. Of course, in a fit of panic, the perfect couple has to dispose of a dead body before heading off to a weekend getaway with their duplicitous pals. Their relationship is tested further when the body they attempted to hide begins appearing, alive and well, and coming after them.
Part Twilight Zone, part rom-com, and choc full of solid comedic performances, the film is the product of Grabinski’s twisted mind who has an affinity for escapist romantic entertainment and the disturbing realm of mystery and the unknown. Here we chat with the man behind the film and ask about where the film came from, how McHale and Bishé sere cast and how the film nearly premiered at Tribecca 2020.
