This fall, Six Flags is set to deliver its most electrifying Fright Fest experience yet with the introduction of Fright Fest Extreme, presented by SNICKERS. As part of this year’s haunting lineup, Six Flags will be transforming its parks into a living nightmare featuring some of Hollywood’s most iconic horror franchises. Among the highly anticipated additions is New Line Cinema’s The Conjuring universe, which will make its debut with immersive experiences from the beloved horror series, including Annabelle and The Nun.
Kicking off just after Labor Day, horror fans can step into the twisted world of The Conjuring Universe at select Six Flags locations, including Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Over Texas, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The centerpiece of this chilling experience is a visit to the Warren Museum of the Occult, where guests will immediately sense that something is terribly wrong. Familiar items have mysteriously vanished from their pedestals, eerie noises echo through the halls, and strange occurrences suggest that the spirits are not only present but actively watching.
As visitors explore the museum, they will be thrust into iconic scenes from The Conjuring films. From the eerie confines of Bathsheba’s Den to the unsettling atmosphere of Annabelle’s Playroom and a confessional at St. Carta, every corner is designed to unsettle and terrify. With shadowy figures lurking, demons stalking, and the Crooked Man looming, this is an experience that will hopefully leave even the bravest souls trembling.
In addition to The Conjuring Universe, Fright Fest Extreme will also feature horror mazes inspired by other popular franchises such as Netflix’s Stranger Things, Army of the Dead, Legendary Entertainment’s Trick ‘R Treat, Lionsgate’s SAW, and the ever-terrifying Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Specific mazes vary by park, so be sure to check your local Six Flags website for all the gory details.
Edithann Ramey, Chief Fright Officer at Six Flags, shared her excitement for this year’s event, stating, “One of the main concepts behind creating this maze was this idea of scaring you to the point of no return. It really needed to feel like you started at the beginning, you finished, and there was a story that was told to you that would stay with you long afterward. Inspired by the series, the maze is designed to be cerebral, psychological, and super scary.”
Fright Fest Extreme runs from early September through November 3, 2024.
