Survios, a leader in virtual reality game development, partnered with 20th Century Games to release Alien: Rogue Incursion, a single-player action-horror experience for PlayStation VR2 and PCVR via Steam.
Set in the iconic Alien universe, the game follows rogue Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks as she embarks on a mission to the remote planet Purdan (LV-354) in search of a missing squadmate. Players are immersed in the desolate Castor’s Cradle research facility, operated by Gemini Exoplanet Solutions, where they must navigate Xenomorph-infested corridors using iconic equipment such as the Pulse Rifle and Motion Tracker.
The game emphasizes exploration, resource gathering, and uncovering the dark secrets of the facility and its former inhabitants. With an original story tied to the Alien legacy, the title aims to deliver an intense and atmospheric VR experience that captures the franchise’s well-known sense of danger and suspense.
“It’s an honor for the Survios team to bring the gritty and outright terrifying Alien universe to the immersive medium of VR for the first time,” said TQ Jefferson, Chief Product Officer at Survios. “Alien and VR could not be a more perfect match, and we’re extremely proud to add this original story to the 45-year legacy of the Alien franchise.”
Part One of Alien: Rogue Incursion is available now, with Part Two, promising tougher challenges and more formidable enemies, currently in development. In addition to its release on PlayStation VR2 and PCVR, the game is slated to launch on Meta Quest 3 and 3S on February 13, 2025, with pre-orders now open.
