Blood Incantation Brings Cosmic Death Metal Documentary to Alamo Drafthouse Nationwide May 20
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Denver death metal band Blood Incantation are teaming up for a one-night cosmic event on May 20, 2026. Twenty-six Alamo Drafthouse locations across the country will screen All Gates Open: In Search of Absolute Elsewhere, the band’s feature-length documentary chronicling the creation of their landmark 2024 album Absolute Elsewhere — followed by a live Q&A broadcast from Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake in Denver, with the band present in person.
All Gates Open offers an immersive look at Blood Incantation’s 2023 recording sessions at Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios, tracing the band’s evolution from atmospheric death metal pioneers into something more expansive and genuinely hard to classify. Screenings will be preceded by a 20-minute pre-show featuring the band’s epic music video for “The Stargate.”
“Being huge fans of music documentaries ourselves, we knew at the outset that any attempt to capture this project fully would require a workload of epic proportions,” said the band. “We are honored to be able to present ‘All Gates Open: In Search of Absolute Elsewhere’ in its ideal context — in theaters.”
