SeaWorld San Diego has announced the full lineup for Howl-O-Scream 2026, returning for its sixth year with the event’s most ambitious slate to date. Running September 11 through October 31 on select nights, this year’s event features six haunted houses, eight scare zones, five vile vignettes, and a brand-new attraction inspired by Sony Pictures’ I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch.
The centerpiece of this year’s lineup is that debut I Know What You Did Last Summer house, which plunges guests into the aftermath of the infamous Hellville massacre: four teens who dumped a body into the sea, and a victim who came back — one year later, very angry, and very much not done. It’s the first haunted house at Howl-O-Scream San Diego inspired by a Sony Pictures horror property and gives the event a major IP anchor.
The second all-new house, Area 64: MOTHERSHIP, serves as a prequel to the fan-favorite Area 64: Alien Outbreak attraction. It takes guests back 30 years to the origins of the extraterrestrial nightmare and features the largest haunted house show scene in the event’s history — including an 80-foot-long alien mothership façade.
Four returning fan-favorite houses round out the lineup, covering a cursed 3-D circus, a gruesome slaughterhouse, a bewitched New Orleans bayou, and a sinister pharmaceutical experiment. Each delivers its own horror logic and distinct visual identity.
Beyond the houses, the scare zone lineup expands to eight zones, including three all-new additions. Overgrowth drops guests into a mutant greenhouse, Terrors of the Deep summons sea beasts and eldritch horrors at the waterfront, and Ripper Row puts Jack the Ripper loose on a gas-lit Victorian street. Returning zones — Red Moon Revelry, All Hallows Harvest, Deadly Toys, The Graveyard, and Carnival of Chaos — fill out the park.
Howl-O-Scream tickets start at $33.99 during the current Killer Summer Sale. For tickets and select-night schedules, visit SeaWorld.com/san-diego/events/howl-o-scream.
