Artsploitation Films has announced the North American release of the shocking Chilean horror film TRAUMA. TRAUMA is the third feature from director Lucio A. Rojas and has screened at Horror Hound Film Festival, the Vancouver Badass Film Festival de Canada, Morbido Film Fest and the Optical Theatre Festival in Italy, where Rojas took home the award for Best Film.
TRAUMA is more than just a visual display of palpable terror and suspense, it’s a cinematic depiction of the real-life horrors committed by the Pinochet regime and the visceral cycle of abuse that followed after its fall. There is something quite frightening about films rooted in truth. And the truth of this film exposes the horrors of politics and the evil that can lie in the most ordinary of men.
A shocking and brutal tale that blends the dark history of Chile’s recent repressive dictatorial past with the seemingly modern and progressive Chile of today. The cataclysm of these two worlds clashing come when a group of women ventures to the idyllic countryside for a weekend of fun. But their dream-like day soon turns nightmarish when a victim of government torture stumbles upon them, unleashing his pent-up rage. Face to face with the depravity of man, the women must fight for their very lives.
TRAUMA will be available October 23rd on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD, including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu and more.
The Blu-ray (SRP $19.99) and DVD (SRP $14.99) releases of TRAUMA will be available from all major retailers.
