What many probably interpreted as a forgettable horror movie from 2015, The Boy has seen new life through fan bases online that have found love for the movie and the twists and turns that it reveals to the audience. Hollywood noticing attention, and the resurrection of the creepy child genre with The Turning, was bound to make a sequel. In Brahms: The Boy 2 it seems like you can’t keep an evil doll down as he finds his way into the hands of another family.

Synopsis: Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into a guest house on the estate where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms. It is not long until the boy’s mother Liza (Katie Holmes) begins to notice the eerieness of the doll and the weird forces that seem to be immerging from it. Will the family be able to not only break themself away from the seemingly cursed home but also escape Brahm’s grip on their son?

Without giving away too much of the plot or the twist for The Boy, the film does a great job of presenting itself as one thing and then shocking you with another. With this new trailer, it seems like the film is going for a much more supernatural story than the previous one which may be disappointing to fans depending on how they handle it. Where the trailer for the first movie left me curious about where the story was going to go, I feel like this trailer is giving away too much to the point of it become predictable. This could be a situation where the trailer is not doing the film justice but I have to say the trailer finished with me feeling less excited than I did when I started it.
