Prano-Bailey Bond’s brilliant horror film CENSOR finally came home on September 14. The film world premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival as the night one Midnight Movie and for good reason. Based upon the UK’s hardcore video scene of the 1980s, Censor is a mixture of reality and irreality that delves deep into the psyche of a traumatized woman and explores memory loss, indulgent violence, social morality, secret proclivities, and obsession. This is a smart horror movie that doesn’t forego gore for depth and vice versa.

Today we share a fascinating bonus feature from the upcoming release that delves deeper into the world that CENSOR takes place in. Brittain, 1985, and the panicked battle against what were referred to as the Video Nasties. What are those? Essentially they were movies that depicted violence to such an extreme that concern grew over the videos actually inspiring copycat attacks.
