The holiday horror film Advent is set to make its world premiere at FrightFest Halloween on November 1st, with a digital release following on November 25th, courtesy of Miracle Media. Directed by Airell Anthony Hayles (Werewolf Santa, Midnight Peepshow), Advent brings a chilling twist to the Christmas season with a story inspired by the Blue Whale Challenge, a disturbing social media phenomenon.
The film stars Mark Arnold (Blade Runner 2049), Nicholas Vince (Hellraiser, How to Kill Monsters), Cory Peterson (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Rasina Pavlova, and Cian Lorcan (Werewolf Santa). In Advent, a social media influencer, fascinated by urban legends, stumbles upon a mysterious advent calendar. She decides to broadcast the opening of each door live on YouTube, only to find herself facing increasingly disturbing challenges as each new door reveals more sinister threats. As the calendar’s countdown to Christmas progresses, her life begins to spiral out of control, leaving her to question whether she will survive past Christmas.
