What is The Shimmer? That is exactly the question that Lena (Natalie Portman), is being asked after her husband (Oscar Isaac) disappears into a mysterious, iridescent dome that is growing from an impact crater on a coastline in America. From visionary writer and director Alex Garland (Ex Machina, 28 Days Later) and based on the acclaimed best-selling Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer, Annihilation stars Natalie Portman, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tessa Thompson, Gina Rodriguez and Tuva Novotny.

The film will be released February 23rd, 2018 in theaters nationwide and, frankly, that can’t come soon enough. With the storytelling of Alex Garland, the acting of Portman, Leigh, and Isaac, and the stunning visual effects along with a compelling story, the movie promises to be high-concept sci-fi horror that should not be missed.
