Black Fawn Distribution has announced that The Last Video Store, a festival favorite, will see a limited release across Canadian theaters this October, perfectly timed for Halloween. Directed by Cody Kennedy and Tim Rutherford, the film follows a young woman who, upon dropping off a VHS collection at her local video store, stumbles upon a cursed tape that unleashes classic horror villains into the real world.
The film will debut in select theaters beginning October 24th in Vancouver at the Rio Theater, followed by screenings in Calgary, Edmonton, and Hamilton through November. Additionally, it will be featured at Canadian film festivals such as the Forest City Film Fest and the Hellifax Horror Fest.

According to producer Laurence Gendron of Genco Pictures, the film is a tribute to the VHS era and the horror genre. Black Fawn Distribution President Chad Archibald notes that the collaboration with Canadian cinemas is an exciting opportunity to support local filmmaking talent and bring a nostalgic horror experience to audiences.
For fans in the U.S. and the U.K., the film will be distributed by Arrow Video in a forthcoming release.
