Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is a combined effort by Nightdive Studios and Alcon Entertainment. Together they bring you a modern restoration of Blade Runner that was originally released in 1997. This new Enhanced Edition will be available for the PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles.

Being one of the most innovative adventure games of its time, Blade Runner was originally released by Westwood Studios back in 1997. With a branching narrative that seamlessly was interwoven with the events of Ridley Scott’s 1982 feature film, along with groundbreaking graphics and an original music score, it delivered a memorable gaming experience. Blade Runner was long praised as a master-class in game design for its meticulous recreation of the sci-fi cinematic classic.

This seminal game will soon become broadly available to a whole new generation of gamers around the world after being once lost for years. Nightdrive has created a polished and premium restoration for fans of this cult classic by using their established KEX game engine. KEX has been used across all digital platforms to restore classic video games such as System Shock: Enhanced Edition, Turok, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Blood, and Forsaken Remastered. Just as Westwood intended, fans can enjoy the game in German, French, Italian, and Chinese thanks to Nightdive who has sourced the original foreign-language translations.

Updated character models/animations, upscaled cutscenes using machine learning algorithms, widescreen resolution support, keyboard, and controller customization along with so much more will be featured in Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition. However, the original look and feel of the game will be preserved which is sure to satisfy the fans.

Joe LeFavi of Genuine Entertainment brokered the Alcon-Nightdrive partnership who is also co-producing the game along Nightdive and the Alcon Interactive Group. The Art and Soul of Blade Runner 2049 was previously produced by LeFavi, who is obviously no stranger to the franchise. This art book is Alcon’s top-selling for their Academy Award-winning film sequel in 2017.

Further details on the highly anticipated Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition will be released as development continues. Its release is expected in 2020 across Steam, console, and other platforms.
