The bitter cold temperatures signal the start of new nightmares to come at the 7th annual Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival (BITS). The horror film festival has announced the first wave of features to be screened from November 22-27, 2018 at the Royal Cinema in Toronto.
BITS 2018 will open will Supergrind by Saskatchewan director Lowell Dean (Wolfcop, Another Wolfcop), a road film set in the post-apocalyptic Canadian wasteland. Rob Grant will return for the Ontario premiere of Alive, an unsettling thriller featuring a couple who wake up in an abandoned sanitarium with no memories or who they are or how they got there. Collingwood’s Foresight Features will return with the world premiere of The Hoard, a black comedy mockumentary that follows an unlucky film crew as they try to produce the ultimate haunted reality TV show.

Winnipeg director Danishka Esterhazy will close this chilling festival with the Toronto premiere of Level 16, a dystopian thriller where a group of girls have to lean on their unbreakable friendship if they are going to survive finishing school.

BITS showcases the works of talented Canadian horror and underground cinema movie makers. It challenges social boundaries, explores artistic taboos and supports Canadian artists.
