The highly anticipated vampire road movie, Bogieville, directed by the renowned British filmmaker and actor Sean Cronin, is set to have its world premiere at the 25th anniversary of the UK horror fan fantasy film festival, FrightFest. The festival will take place from August 22-26 in London, celebrating a quarter-century of horror cinema.
Bogieville, penned by screenwriter Henry P. Gravelle, is an intriguing tale set in a derelict American trailer park. The story follows a young couple, Ham and Jody, who find themselves lured into staying by the sinister caretaker, Crawford. Unbeknownst to them, Crawford is the guardian of the park’s residents, a pack of blood-thirsty vampires. The film stars Indonesian actor Arifin Putra and newcomer Eloise Lovell Anderson, with Cronin himself playing the lead vampire, Madison. The cast also includes Sarina Taylor, Poppie Jae Hughes, Daniel P. Lewis, Andrew Lee Pots, and Katie Sheridan.
Sean Cronin, known for his villainous roles in numerous box office hits, brings his unique vision and expertise to Bogieville. The film is produced by Djonny Chen for Silent D Pictures and Cronin for Magnificent Films. Cronin’s previous directorial works have garnered several awards, cementing his reputation as a versatile and talented filmmaker.
Bogieville is among the twenty-eight world premieres featured at FrightFest, a festival that has become a cornerstone of the horror film community. Other notable premieres include “Broken Bird,” the directorial debut of UK actress Joanne Mitchell, and the English premiere of Coralie Fargeat’s “The Substance,” starring Demi Moore.
Alan Jones, co-director of FrightFest, expressed his excitement for this year’s lineup, stating, “FrightFest, the dark heart of cinema, has been beating loud and proud now for an amazing 25 years. An incredible quarter of a century that has seen major challenges and transformations to the global film industry that FrightFest has embodied, embraced, and emblazoned. Our past 25 glorious years have shown FrightFest in a state of continuous evolution, something we are determined will never, ever stop. So let the 25th Anniversary FrightFest begin.”
Fans and enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the festival’s kickoff, with Bogieville poised to be a standout feature of the event.
