At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, Capcom took the stage to unveil thrilling new details for Monster Hunter Wilds™, the latest installment in the acclaimed action RPG series. The reveal included a breathtaking new hunting ground known as the Scarlet Forest, where hunters will face off against the formidable spider-like monster, Lala Barina. This eerie creature, with its sharp limbs and rose-like thorax, adds a fresh layer of danger to the lush, ever-changing environment.
Capcom also provided fans with the first in-depth look at one of the game’s apex predators, Rey Dau, the apex monster of the Windward Plains. This Flying Wyvern, first teased at Summer Game Fest, is a force to be reckoned with, unleashing devastating electrical strikes that challenge even the most seasoned hunters.
Monster Hunter Wilds™ introduces several innovative gameplay mechanics, including the ability to engage in Power Clashes, where players can physically struggle with monsters to gain the upper hand, and Offset Attacks, where well-timed blows can disrupt enemy movements. Support Hunters like Olivia and her elite Palico, Athos, will be available to assist players, making solo play more dynamic and cooperative.
The game also promises seamless exploration across its richly detailed environments. Hunters can now embark on expeditions without returning to base camp, utilizing portable BBQ grills for stat boosts, and resting at Pop-up Camps strategically placed throughout the Forbidden Lands.
Scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2025 on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds™ will feature crossplay support, ensuring that hunters from all platforms can unite against the colossal creatures that roam this vast, untamed world.
