CineBacker, a new crowdfunding platform created specifically for filmmakers by filmmakers, is now live, offering a space for creators to launch and fund their projects. The platform has unveiled several pre-launch campaigns for upcoming films, with official crowdfunding set to begin within the next 10 days.
Among the first projects on CineBacker is Trash’s Revenge, a new installment in the Return of the Living Dead (ROTLD) universe. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the cult classic, the film brings back the original cast, including Linnea Quigley, the iconic Scream Queen, under the creative direction of DRagonSTUDIOS. Quigley expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s a dream come true to return to the ROTLD universe, and with the support of the CineBacker community, we’re confident we’ll create something truly special.”
Other notable pre-launch titles include:
- The Girl in Black: A Gothic thriller from Hollywood producer John Luton, inspired by classic Hammer horror films.
- The Breeding Ground: A zombie thriller directed by World War Z cinematographer Ross Fall, starring Michael Madsen.
CineBacker aims to be more than just a funding platform. It provides tools for collaboration, networking, and connecting filmmakers directly with audiences. The platform invites filmmakers from all backgrounds to join, offering a supportive community for seasoned professionals and first-time directors alike.
“We built CineBacker to be a space where creators can collaborate, innovate, and raise the funds they need to bring their projects to life,” said CineBacker’s founder. “This is a platform designed by people who understand the challenges of filmmaking, and we want to see projects of all kinds thrive here.”
With campaigns launching soon, CineBacker hopes to empower filmmakers and foster a community-driven approach to storytelling.
