Croc! is a crazy movie, and the exclamation point is definitely needed in this movie title. Croc! , directed by
Paul W. Franklin, follows a wedding party trying to survive a giant, bloodthirsty, and uninvited crocodile.

The people making this movie clearly knew what they were doing. Every single element of the film had clear direction and execution. The cinematography of the whole thing was incredible. The colors stood out when needed, and the nighttime scenes had excellent lighting.

The acting in the movie was pretty stacked. There were clearly a lot of talented people working very well together and creating some great dialogue. In all movies, some actors stood out more than others: George Nettleton, who played Charlie, was my personal favorite actor and character. He just felt cool, and even though the plot’s focus was not really around him, it felt like he tied the whole movie together. The leading actress in the film Sian Altman also did a really great job with her character, Lisa. I can’t point out any bad acting at all; everyone worked very hard on their characters.

The CGI of this movie was reasonably impressive. The crocodile looked pretty good, and the cuts between CGI and the characters looked really good. They did a great job creating the gore around the animations. Some of the head-on shots of the crocodile were a little janky looking; for some reason, it sometimes looked way better among the chaos rather than in its own shots. I think they could have created more of these chaotic shots earlier to make it more suspenseful.

This movie lacks resources that would turn this from a good to a great film. I think that Paul W. Franklin has the potential to make some pretty great movies if he is given the necessary resources. I would love to see him have the opportunity to create a more extensive project with more artistic direction. There is so much potential with this group of actors, writers, and production members, and I feel like they deserve the chance to prove themselves in a bigger setting.

Overall, I liked Croc! It’s a quick movie full of gore, great acting, and decent special effects. I should add at least once here that there is a fair amount of nudity and sexual content throughout the movie, but it takes place mostly in the beginning scenes. Croc! isn’t going to be your favorite movie, but it isn’t going to be even close to your least favorite. Who doesn’t love a gore fest as the Halloween season begins? So grab your friends and some snacks and enjoy the red wedding.
