New poster art and an official trailer for the sci-fi horror film Demonic, have been made available ahead of the film’s August premiere. The film uses a patent-pending new method of using volumetric capture (a three-dimensional video technology that turns actors into geometric objects.). And the amount of volumetric capture in Demonic is the most ever seen in a feature film!
Synopsis: A young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades-old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed in this horror-thriller from director Neill Blomkamp.
Review of Trailer: The world of demonic possession is a well traveled road in the horror realm. This causes some films to suffer the fate of forgettability. Where Demonic appears to differ is the combination of simulation and reality which could add an interesting layer to the story. The cast looks strong, with Carly Pope showing particular promise as the main focus of the story.
Written and directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium, Chappie) Demonic stars Carly Pope (Elysium, Popular, Orange County), Chris William Martin (Chaos Theory, The Vampire Diaries), and Michael Rogers (Beyond the Black Rainbow, Two for the Money). The film will be released to theaters, On Demand, and Digital on August 20, 2021.
