In The Game Awards 2021 showcase, we saw a fresh, new glimpse into the world of Dying Light 2. Originally planned for release on December 7th, 2021, the game was pushed back for just two months later. During the presentations, the creators revealed the game to be released on February 4th, 2022, to the excitement of fans everywhere.
Dying Light 2 takes place in The City, a settlement with the last remains of human life are attempting to survive and rebuild, in a world where the virus has won and the world is back in the Dark Ages. Players act as a wanderer trying to find the truth behind everything as choices are made to impact not just The City, but the world.
The game is slated to focus on an open-world full of exploration and secret passages to be discovered. Within the growing conflict between the people within The City, the player’s choices will have consequences on gameplay. Forced to choose a side, players are responsible for forging their own destiny.
Filled with a realistic day and night cycle, exciting parkour skills, and brutal combat, Dying Light 2 is sure to keep even the biggest fans of horror on their toes at all times.
One of the most anticipated features is the availability of co-op between 2-4 players. However, since the gameplay differs from the first Dying Light, the entire co-op system had to change. Now, one of the players will have to host the co-op game, where the host’s decisions impact everybody else. Understandably so, since other players’ choices might’ve changed their entire experience in their individual game.
Dying Light 2 will release on February 4th, 2022 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Preorders are also available on the Dying Light 2 official website.
