Nestled in the nooks of Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT, Evidence of Evil has a bit more than a few rotten apples to offer. From start to finish, we had an absolute blast encountering all manner of ghoulies and ghosties and gore. Evidence of Evil is only in its second year at this location, but the seasoned haunters running it know how to put together a most spectacular evening of frights!

Among Connecticut’s many haunts, Evidence of Evil stands out because it is highly interactive. I was taken by complete surprise when I learned that it has escape room elements and highly engaging scare actors for a haunt of its size. Even more surprising is that the attraction’s interactive components carry your experience effortlessly from one themed zone to the next with spectacular care. These brief immersions are so much fun we actually wished there were even more. So, if you make your way into the pits of Lyman Orchards, you can expect to squeal with glee as much as you’ll scream in terror. And, should anyone ask along your journey, you should wholeheartedly volunteer to be the Orchard’s new Junior Bee Keeper.

One of Evidence Evil’s biggest strengths is its corps of scare actors. Everyone we encountered was ready at a moment’s notice to quip back at our own playful taunts. They also time their scares in a way that makes it difficult to predict what will happen next. We especially appreciated that the scare actors in key zones take their time with you, never pushing you to the next stage without giving you the full shock treatment each of their victims deserves.

Evidence of Evil takes 35 minutes to complete once you get inside. It is the perfect amount of time because—other than the scares fraying your nerves— the whole attraction is arranged with expert precision. For example, the maximum group size at Evidence of Evil is six. Everything is timed and paced to perfection, so you can expect you will never bump into another pack of guests who will affect the quality of your experience. Should you want to visit with more than six people, we recommend that you figure out a way to divide your group beforehand so you can get the most out of your visit.

There are some logistical things to note that are unique to Evidence of Evil (and, well, Lyman Orchards). Parking is free! And a breeze! The terrain is even, but also on exposed ground. You do not need to be concerned about stumbling in the dark but do pick your footwear accordingly. The attraction can be challenging to find as the Orchard does not have streetlights. Before setting sail, set your GPS to Evidence of Evil (and not The Orchard) so you can make it to the attraction without getting scared out of your boots before you get there.

Evidence of Evil packs a hearty punch at a very reasonable price point. With tickets starting at just $25, this nighttime jaunt into a supremely creepy Orchard is worth every penny! You can also pat yourself on the back for an evening of sinful delights because some of the attraction’s ticket sales go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Evidence of Evil is a haunt you surely don’t want to miss this season. For more information, head over to their site, https://evidenceofevil.net/
