An exclusive clip from the upcoming horror film The Wait has been unveiled, providing audiences with a first look at director F. Javier Gutiérrez’s latest project. Set in the remote and mystical Andalusian countryside, the film is described as a “love letter to the horror/fantasy genre” and is considered Gutiérrez’s most intimate and brutal work to date.
Launching on October 4, The Wait will be available on digital and cable VOD platforms, including Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home, courtesy of Film Movement.
Synopsis: In the depths of rural Spain, Eladio (played by Victor Clavijo) is employed to oversee the hunting grounds of Don Francisco’s estate. The property features ten hunting stands, each spaced to prevent accidents. After three years, Don Carlos—Don Francisco’s second-in-command—offers Eladio a bribe to add three more stands. Though hesitant at first, Eladio is convinced by his wife to accept the money. This decision leads to unforeseen consequences that engulf his family in guilt, hatred, and a quest for revenge.
