An exclusive, first-look clip from the upcoming psychological thriller DAFT STATE has been released, giving audiences a glimpse into a film packed with unnerving tension and psychological suspense. The film stars Christopher Backus (Black Bird) and Jake T. Austin (The Fosters) and features executive production by Academy Award-winner Mira Sorvino.

Set to release on digital and on-demand platforms on November 12th, 2024, DAFT STATE explores the unrelenting psychological breakdown of Easton (played by Backus). As Easton grapples with disturbing hallucinations of his wife and daughter, his life spirals toward a chaotic reality where nightmarish visions threaten his grip on sanity. With mounting terror and a race against unseen, malevolent forces, the film teases a narrative wrapped in psychological and supernatural intrigue.

Directed by Chad Bishoff and co-written by Bishoff and Sam Harter, DAFT STATE promises to challenge viewers’ perceptions of fear and the boundaries of the mind. Backus’s performance is joined by Skye P. Marshall, Ka’ramuu Kush, Paulo Costanzo, Jake T. Austin, and Iman Karram. The haunting score is composed by Mike McCready, known for his ability to heighten tension through sound.
