Universal Studios Hollywood is set to redefine thrill rides with its first-ever, high-speed outdoor roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, which will open its tracks to the public in 2026. Inspired by Universal Pictures’ popular Fast & Furious film saga, the roller coaster promises an adrenaline-pumping experience that will thrill guests with innovative technology and immersive features.

Utilizing advanced technological achievements never before employed in a roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is designed to plunge visitors directly into the high-octane world of the franchise. Riders will be captivated by the state-of-the-art ride system that allows for 360-degree rotation of individual ride vehicles, as they speed through an elaborate track designed with sound reduction technology to ensure a seamless experience. This innovative ride system will create the exhilarating sensation of drifting cars as guests spin through the course at lightning-fast speeds.

“As a premier entertainment theme park destination with a rich history of immersing guests in incredible rides based on today’s most inspiring movie, television, and gaming properties, we are excited to introduce our very first high-speed outdoor roller coaster,” said Scott Strobl, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Universal Studios Hollywood. “The arrival of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be a game-changer, infusing a new level of excitement into our dynamic theme park, and we look forward to welcoming guests when it races onto the scene in 2026.”

Situated on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, the coaster’s journey will begin as guests line up in a large, red-brick, garage-style structure. They will board ride vehicles inspired by the authentic cars seen in the films and then be catapulted through the air on a track that weaves its way across the theme park.

Universal Studios’ deep experience in pushing the boundaries of roller coaster design ensures that Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be a premier attraction, setting new standards for what visitors can expect from a thrilling, high-speed ride.
