The feature trailer for Dreamland Awaits, the upcoming arthouse horror film by acclaimed director Demeter Lorant, has been released, offering a glimpse into its eerie and psychologically intense narrative. The film is scheduled to premiere on the festival circuit in early 2025, blending psychological tension, Lovecraftian horror, and atmospheric visuals.

The story centers on Josh, a veteran detective grappling with the trauma of his career, whose life is upended when his wife and daughters are abducted by a mysterious figure. To rescue them, Josh must follow a series of harrowing instructions: move into an isolated house, avoid detection, and complete increasingly disturbing tasks.

As the house reveals itself to be a gateway to a malevolent dimension, Josh’s grip on reality begins to fracture. The film explores themes of trauma, the supernatural, and the fragility of the human mind. Starring Nicolas Hackenberg (Fauda, FBI: International) as Josh, alongside Rebecka Johnston (Midsommar, The Strangers: Chapter 1), Dreamland Awaits features practical effects by co-producer Gábor Sz. Nagy, whose work enhances the film’s visceral aesthetic.

Described as a chilling mix of The Babadook and Jacob’s Ladder, with a Lovecraftian influence, the film’s newly released trailer captures its dark atmosphere and psychological complexity, building anticipation for its festival debut.
