Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution branch of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has secured North American VOD rights to the indie comedy Left at Wall. The film will be available for rental and purchase across digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms, as well as on DVD, beginning January 24, 2025.
Inspired by the 2021 Robin Hood/GameStop event, Left at Wall explores the dramatic sibling rivalry between John Saber, a struggling Hollywood writer, and his Wall Street investor brother, Don. The plot unfolds as John learns of Don’s latest short-selling scheme and mounts an online effort to sabotage his brother’s plan, taking aim at the broader Wall Street establishment.
The film, written, directed, and produced by comedian Ron Placone, features a cast that includes Placone as John Saber, Gareth Reynolds as Don Saber, and notable performances by Kimberly Hill, Eddie Pepitone, and Sage Francis. Executive producers David K. Fried, Carissa Mohr, and Donald W. Mohr supported the production under Plac One Productions.
“When the GameStop thing happened, I got the idea for this film, and I knew I wanted to make it,” said Placone. “Our story’s completely fictional but nods to that event. It’s like if High Fidelity and The Big Short had a baby, and then that baby joins a union.”
Freestyle Digital Media brokered the deal directly with Ron Placone and Plac One Productions.
