Warner Bros. Games announced the official launch of MultiVersus, a free-to-play platform fighter, now available on PlayStation®5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC platforms including Steam and Epic Games Store. Developed by Player First Games and managed by Warner Bros. Games San Diego, MultiVersus supports full cross-play and cross-progression.

This exciting launch introduces Season 1: Puns & Villainy, which features an expanding roster of beloved characters from various Warner Bros. Discovery franchises. Notably, horror movie icon Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series makes his debut, alongside The Joker, Banana Guard from Adventure Time, and later this season, Agent Smith from The Matrix.

Additionally, MultiVersus debuts a novel PvE mode titled Rifts, which promises a unique gaming experience beyond the competitive PvP matches. The game continues to showcase themed maps inspired by popular animated series like Dexter’s Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls.

David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, emphasized the aim to create an accessible and enjoyable gaming environment, suitable for both casual and competitive gamers. Tony Huynh, Co-Founder and Game Director of Player First Games, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, highlighting the special attention given to each character’s design and combat mechanics.

MultiVersus is set to provide various modes of play, both online and locally, with features like 2 vs. 2 team-based, 1 vs. 1 matches, and 4-player free-for-alls. The game also sports enhanced visuals, improved lighting, and a tailor-made rollback netcode to ensure smooth online interactions.

Noteworthy voice talents include Mark Hamill as The Joker, Kevin Conroy as Batman, and Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, enriching the player’s experience with familiar voices from their favorite characters.
