The countdown has begun. Halloween is just a mere 127 days away with festivities beginning even earlier. As one of the country’s premiere haunt venues Universal Studios Hollywood spares no expense in preparing the absolute best, most terrifying, most unbelievable haunt experiences around.
This type of production takes a huge amount of preparation. In fact it has been said that preparation for any year’s haunt, was started the night after the previous year closed. So it’s no surprise that here, at the end of June 2015, we are already seeing the first signs of construction in preparation for Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights 2015.
While no official announcements have been made, the news has begun to slowly trickle in. Every year about this time we eagerly begin to snap up the little morsels of information that fall from the Twitter feed of the maniacally cryptic and infectiously entertaining twitter feed for the Creative Director of Universal Studios Hollywood and Halloween Horror Nights, John Murdy aka @HorrorNights.
Again, we are still awaiting word on what any of the mazes (Here on the west coast we call them mazes, east coast calls them houses.) will be. But it’s a hell of a lot of fun to track the progress, speculate, and have fun with it.
We start a new series called the Halloween Horror Nights Progress tracker. This series will track the progress and breaking news for all things Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights 2015.
Today we share the latest pictures from Universal Studios Hollywood.
Revenge of the Mummy Extended Queue
With all three of the previous, prime locations on the upper lot taken, it is safe to assume that the usual lower lot locations will be used again, at least for this year. Here we see the extended queue behind the Revenge of the Mummy show building. Nothing much happening… yet.
Jurassic Park Extended Queue
It’s no surprise that a new maze would be popping up in the extended queue for Jurassic Park: The Ride. This is a staple location and one that is easily handed over for the construction as it is rarely used.
Yeah, so basically all that we have here are the flats going up. Black walls and the tent. But it IS happening! So exciting. Just so exciting. We will keep you posted the second we know more!
That’s it for this Halloween Horror Nights Tracker. Keep a close eye out for more news soon.

I can’t wait. Easily my favorite time of year. VIP HHN here I come again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Kev,
How much did you pay for VIP in previous years? Thinking about trying it out this year, hope it’s worth whatever they’re asking. I know you get food and drinks and front of line privileges, but what else comes with it? Thanks!
Just caught news of this site over on MiceChat.
Glad to see you go whole hog into Halloween news.
The anti-spam captcha seems to need a bit of work. Text is coming out gray and there’s a stray minus sign in the middle of it.
THANK YOU! Keep the feedback coming. We want this site to be perfect. Or at least as good as it CAN be.
I love the smell of maze building in the morning!
Can’t wait to scare again this year! It’ll be my 3rd year in a row as a Scareactor and I’m so excited to be scaring again.
