Villainous Games Studio, in collaboration with Neonhive Games, has announced the release of Midnight Harvest , a free Halloween-themed update for their first-person survival horror roguelike Harvest Hunt. This feature-rich update, available on October 23rd, 2024, brings new challenges, powers, and cosmetics to the game in celebration of the season. The event will run through November 4th, 2024.

In Midnight Harvest, players must survive the Devourer and protect the cursed village of Luna Nova in a folk horror setting. The Midnight Harvest update adds two new powers to the game’s tarot-inspired “Whispers” system. The Vigor Drain ability slowly depletes health with each passing second, while No Exit traps players until they find a key to escape. Players can also wield a new tool called the Repellent, offering protection from a single Devourer attack.

In addition to these gameplay features, the update introduces new Halloween cosmetics for both tools and characters. Players can unlock these items by completing weekly challenges called “Rites.” Successful players will earn tokens to unlock exclusive content.

The Midnight Harvest update is free for all Midnight Harvest players on Steam, and the game will be available at a 30% discount during Steam Scream Fest from October 28th to November 4th, 2024.
