Hybrid Hazards, directed by Alexis Ramirez and written by Kayla Cooper, is a short film about a rock band visiting a family factory and what happens. For a low-budget hour short, Hybrid Hazards is really good. They have an exciting concept to start out with, and I think it could definitely be expanded into a longer short or maybe even a short feature.

The acting was above average. Julia Davo, who played Lacy, and Stephanie Falciano, who played Megan, easily stole the show from everyone else. They brought their characters to life and definitely created excellent relationships between other characters, making others more interesting.

The best part of the short was the makeup. I have to credit Samantha Mileski, who worked on that part of the project. She really made the horror come out of the characters and made them look really interesting in the process.The score behind the short could have been improved upon. I thought that the vibe of the songs didn’t really match what was happening in the actual scenes. Although one song was actually very good, that was the original performance by Julia Davo. It really gave it an electric start and made me want more of her singing.

Hybrid Hazards is just a fun short film and should be praised for its care for detail and unmistakable creativity. I really enjoyed watching this film and honestly wish there was more of it. It is definitely worth your time, and it is also just a great start for a future project.
