We knew it was coming, but now that details have emerged, we are excited, ready, and poised for battle. Universal Studios Hollywood has finally announced details and a target opening date for Dreamworks Theater! The Mission Revival structure just inside the park entrance will open with the all-new Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest presentation that will mix the 4D effects of wind, water, and motion to thrust visitors into 180º of action.
As visitors pass through the entry gate, to the attraction they will pass a ticket booth staffed by a three-dimensional Pinocchio character asleep on the job. As guests enter the pre-show area of the theatre, they will meet an array of DreamWorks characters who kick-off the attraction’s narrative. Once inside, the audience will be seated “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest,” created and produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Creative, will introduce the first-ever integration of interior projection mapping designed to engulf guests in 180 degrees of immersive adventure. The attraction will feature an original score by female composer Germaine Franco.
Created and produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Creative, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” recounts a plot-filled story whereby on the morning of The Emperor’s Great Feast of Heroes, dragon warrior Po embarks on a wild and perilous mission to deliver the rare and precious Liquid of Limitless Power to the Palace, while enlisting guests to join him on the exciting adventure filled with raging rapids, river pirates, awesome magic and Kung Fu.
Color us excited! Another new, groundbreaking attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, home to one of the best Halloween events in the world. Thank goodness they keep us occupied with cool stuff as we wait for Halloween Horror Nights.
