Halloween may have come to a seemingly abrupt ending despite personally celebrating it for at least a couple of months now. However, the end of spooky season thankfully does not mean the end of horror-based experiences. PDXtreme Horror’s INTTN (INITIATION) demonstrated how extreme horror tactics can be effectively utilized in a virtual setting at any time during the year.

INTTN is PDXtreme Horror’s sophomore virtual experience. Prior to their segue into the virtual realm of horror, they boasted an in-person experience (ONE) before the world shut completely down. After participating in their first virtual experience (ISLTN) last year, I was eager to see PDXtreme Horror’s next endeavors. INTTN proved to both delight and scare in numerous aspects of the show!

INTTN had me on the edge of my seat for the entirety of the production. The storyline progressed naturally and effortlessly with twists that I could not have ever predicted. Nicci and Sam Berrett (playing themselves) sold every action throughout the show. Interacting with them proved to be engaging and incredibly fun!

INTTN effectively combined a solid storyline and simple, yet believable, set design with intense horror situations to create a terrifying experience that left me feeling fear from the safety of my own room. I was incredibly impressed with how INTTN translated certain elements seen in in-person extreme shows into a virtual setting. They successfully used those tactics to absolutely terrify me, and I am so grateful for that! I highly recommend checking out PDXtreme Horror.
