Oscilloscope Laboratories has announced the theatrical release of VULCANIZADORA on May 2, with an in-person appearance by writer-director Joel Potrykus at New York City’s IFC Center during opening weekend. This black comedy follows two friends (played by Potrykus and Joshua Burge) who journey into a Michigan forest to fulfill a disturbing pact, only to face dire consequences when their plan fails.

Shot on 16mm film, VULCANIZADORA is produced by Ashley Potrykus, Hannah Dweck, Theodore Schaefer of Dweck Productions, and Matt Grady of Factory 25. The movie is the fourth collaboration between Potrykus and Oscilloscope Laboratories, following their previous success with BUZZARD. In addition to debuting his new feature, Potrykus is guest programming April’s “Waverly Midnights” at IFC Center, presenting cult classics such as Mad Max and The Evil Dead.
