Knott’s Soak City Waterpark is set to make a splash as it joins forces with aquatic centers, swim schools, and waterparks across the nation for the 15th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on June 20th. This pivotal event aims to raise awareness about the crucial role swimming lessons play in preventing drowning, particularly among young children.

Drowning remains a leading cause of unintended death for children aged 1-4 globally. The World Health Organization highlights it as one of the top five causes of death for children aged 1-14 in nearly 60% of the countries it monitors. In response, the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson was created to advocate for the lifesaving benefits of swimming education. Research supports that formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children aged 1-4.

This year, Knott’s Soak City invites families to join them at the Wave Pool for a formal swimming lesson that not only teaches vital swimming skills but also emphasizes safety in and around water. The event is open for registration starting May 20th, and interested participants are encouraged to sign up early at knotts.com/events/worlds-largest-swim-lesson to secure a spot in this life-saving program.
