RLJE Films, a division of AMC Networks, and Shudder, the go-to streaming service for horror enthusiasts, have announced their acquisition of worldwide rights to the highly anticipated horror film Little Bites. Directed and written by Spider One (Allegoria), the film features an impressive cast including Krsy Fox (Terrifier 3), Elizabeth Caro (Disney Junior’s Ariel), Jon Sklaroff (Gifted), Chaz Bono (American Horror Story), and horror legends Barbara Crampton (Jakob’s Wife), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), and Bonnie Aarons (The Nun).
Little Bites will make its exclusive theatrical debut on October 4, 2024, with a streaming release on Shudder to follow at a later date.
The film tells the story of Mindy, a young widow struggling to protect her daughter Alice from a monstrous, flesh-eating creature named Agyar. In a desperate attempt to save her child, Mindy sacrifices her own life, allowing the creature to feed on her while keeping Alice hidden at her grandmother’s house. The film delves deep into themes of parental sacrifice, self-doubt, and the pressures of societal judgment, with Agyar serving as a terrifying metaphor for these dark forces.
Director Spider One shared, “Little Bites began with an unflinching look at my own experience as a parent. An experience that is a complex mess of love, pain, success, and failure. Mindy’s relationship with the monster, Agyar, reflects these struggles. His bites are her pain; his words are her insecurities. Krsy Fox and Jon Sklaroff have brought these characters to life in ways that exceeded my expectations, and I’m excited for horror fans to experience Little Bites this fall.”
Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films, added, “We are thrilled to reteam with Spider One on this terrifying film. He continues to be a strong visionary talent, and we can’t wait for audiences to see Little Bites in theaters this Fall.”
