As we continue to look for the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, movies continue to be announced with the hope that we can resume pre-pandemic movie-going. This summer, M. Night Shyamalan is back with a chilling the mysterious new thriller Old based on the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.

Old - The Big Game Spot [HD]
M. Night Shyamalan movies tend to be hit or miss with me. I loved Split, Glass, and The Sixth Sense, while I was underwhelmed by Lady in the Water and The Village. Old looks like classic Shyamalan and I mean this in a good way. It’s likely you’ll have absolutely no idea what the truth of the situation is until the end. I expect there will be some good twists and I like the original concept. The cast is quite stacked so all things considered… there is a lot going for this film. I think it’s worth checking out and hopefully, the story lives up to the high expectations this trailer creates.

Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, Old stars Gael García Bernal (Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle), Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), Rufus Sewell (Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle), Ken Leung (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Jupiter Ascending), Abbey Lee (HBO’s Lovecraft Country), Aaron Pierre (Syfy’s Krypton), Alex Wolff (Hereditary), Embeth Davidtz (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Eliza Scanlen (Little Women), Emun Elliott (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Kathleen Chalfant (Showtime’s The Affair) and Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit).

Old is coming to theaters everywhere (pandemic permitting) on July 23, 2021.
