Universal Orlando Resort has revealed an exclusive first look at Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, a new attraction set to open on May 22, 2025, within the Dark Universe section of Universal Epic Universe. This groundbreaking ride will feature 14 advanced, animated figures, bringing to life some of the most iconic Universal Monsters, including Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Wolf Man. With this unveiling, Universal showcases its most ambitious technological endeavor yet, integrating cutting-edge robotics with detailed, life-like movements.
In Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, guests will journey through the dark catacombs of Frankenstein Manor. The storyline follows Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein, as she conducts experiments to control these legendary monsters. However, things quickly spiral out of control, and guests find themselves surrounded by enraged creatures intent on reclaiming their freedom.
One of the focal points of the experience is a towering, nine-foot-tall Frankenstein’s Monster, weighing over 800 pounds, which guests will encounter in the attraction’s queue. This technologically advanced figure moves with unprecedented realism, adding a new layer of immersion to the ride. Alongside Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula lurks, ready to terrorize those who dare enter the Manor, while the amphibious Creature from the Black Lagoon rises from dark depths to menace riders.
For those not quite prepared to face the terrors of the attraction, the Dark Universe area offers alternative experiences. Visitors can explore the eerie village, meet legendary characters like Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein, or encounter other unique residents, including The Invisible Man, Ygor, and a roving monster hunter.
