Dark Sky Films announced the release of BOOGER, the highly anticipated debut feature from writer-director Mary Dauterman, hitting select theaters and digital/VOD on September 13th. The film stars Grace Glowicki, known for her role in Strawberry Mansion, in a performance that has already garnered significant praise.

BOOGER seamlessly blends body horror with comedy, presenting a story of intense female friendship and tragic loss against a backdrop of supernatural transformation. The narrative follows Anna (Glowicki) as she grapples with the sudden death of her best friend and roommate, Izzy (Sofia Dobrushin, Mean Girls 2024). When Izzy’s cat, Booger, runs away, Anna’s desperate search leads to a bizarre twist: she is bitten by the cat and begins to exhibit feline characteristics. As her transformation unfolds, Anna’s work life and relationship with her boyfriend spiral into chaos.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Garrick Bernard (Single Drunk Female), Marcia DeBonis (Sometimes I Think About Dying, 13 Going on 30), David Rysdahl (Oppenheimer, Fargo), and indie icon Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Scream 3).
