As the horror community awaits the release of Dead Whisper, we’re thrilled to share two exclusive tracks from the film’s chilling score, composed by Nikhil Koparkar. The limited theatrical release is set for July 5, with a VOD release following on July 9.

Directed by Conor Soucy, Dead Whisper takes viewers into the eerie tale of Elliot Campbell, a Cape Cod lawyer drawn to a mysterious island. There, he faces the haunting possibility of reuniting with his deceased daughter. Set against a retro Massachusetts backdrop, the film stars breakout actor Samuel Dunning from Brunswick, Maine, alongside an ensemble cast including Rob Evan, Tana Sirois, Samantha Hill, Codey Gillum, Chris Goodwin, Dhane Ross, Hester Wilkinson, and Bruce Winant.

Composer Nikhil Koparkar offers a sneak peek into the film’s atmosphere with two evocative tracks: “Forever And Ever…” and “Reunion.”

Koparkar revealed his unique approach to scoring Dead Whisper. He explained, “I grew up listening to more traditionally melodic film scores but recently have been interested in scores that explore the sonic landscape using non-obvious choices. Conor and I aimed to bridge the gap between these two approaches.”

The score blends traditional and unconventional instruments to evoke the film’s Cape Cod setting and the haunting narrative of a father’s grief. “We used instruments like the Thai Khaen, Wind Wand, Marvin drum, and death whistles, along with vocals and strings, processing them to serve both melodic and atmospheric purposes,” Koparkar added.

Reflecting on the score’s impact, Koparkar said, “Fans of both elevated horror films and throwback horror classics will appreciate the slow-burn sense of dread that permeates the film. The music serves as a world-building device, enhancing the alien landscape of the island and the lurking evil presence.”

The limited theatrical release is set for July 5, with a VOD release following on July 9.
