Get ready to embark on a wild journey through the Watergate scandal with the upcoming DVD release of 18½ on April 9, 2024. Distributed by MVD Entertainment, this special edition DVD promises the celebrated film itself but also an exclusive two-hour behind-the-scenes documentary, Covid 18½: The Making of a Film During a Global Pandemic.

Directed by Dan Mirvish and featuring a screenplay by Daniel Moya, 18½ stars Willa Fitzgerald, John Magaro, Vondie Curtis Hall, Catherine Curtin, Richard Kind, Sullivan Jones, and Alanna Saunders. With cameo appearances by Lloyd Kaufman, Marija Abney, and the voices of Jon Cryer, Ted Raimi, and Bruce Campbell as President Richard Nixon, the film is a “standout feature”.

The film follows a White House transcriber who leaks the infamous 18½-minute tape to a reporter, setting off a chain of events that leads them into the midst of hippies, swingers, and sinister forces. Garnering critical acclaim and commercial success, 18½ has been an indie hit, winning awards at 30 festivals across four continents and earning “Certified Fresh” status on Rotten Tomatoes during its theatrical run.

In addition to the feature film and documentary, the special edition DVD includes a commentary track by director Dan Mirvish and screenwriter Daniel Moya, live audience tracks from the World Premiere, audio of the full 18½-minute Nixon tape with Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, and Jon Cryer, and much more.

“This spring marks the 50th anniversary of the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment proceedings against Nixon,” said director Mirvish. “This is the perfect time to release our special edition DVD, and we’re thrilled to be working with our partners at MVD Entertainment who’ve done a fantastic job putting together the disc.”

Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of cinematic history with 18½ a satirical gem that offers a fresh perspective on one of the most infamous moments in American politics.
