They say love makes you do crazy things… and according to Love and Monsters, it’s even powerful enough to make you traverse over 80 miles of wild landscape riddled with the most dangerous monsters the mind can imagine! This upcoming film has it all, action, romance, comedy, and some wonderfully wacky monsters. The trailer for Paramount’s latest film has dropped ahead of its October home release. In a time where we are isolated from so many we love, Love and Monsters may be just the thing we need.
Synopsis: Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there’s nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. The fun-filled and action-packed adventure also stars Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt.
A post-apocalyptic movie is only as good as the cast and the monster that cast faces. In the case of Love and Monsters, it looks like both these elements will be top-notch! Joel (Dylan O’Brien) is lovesick and endearing and is the perfect protagonist. The small glimpses of the side characters are definitely promising and suggest there will be a lot of cheeky banter which only makes a film like this better. Love and Monsters looks to be lighthearted fun and not to be missed!
Love and Monsters was written by Brian Duffield (Insurgent) and Matthew Robinson (Dora and the Lost City of Gold), directed by Michael Matthews (Five Fingers For Marseilles), and stars Dylan O’Brien (Maze Runner, “Teen Wolf”), Jessica Henwick (“Iron Fist,” “Game of Thrones”), Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy), Ariana Greenblatt (The One And Only Ivan, Avengers: Infinity War). The film is premiering as a home release on October 16, 2020, on the following streaming platforms: Apple TV, Vudu, Amazon Prime Video, FandangoNow, Google Play, and Xfinity.
